What Sets Us Apart

All About Us

Welcome to the Jets ECAC Flag Football League! Starting in February 2026, we’re thrilled to launch an exciting new chapter in college athletics, funded by the generous support of the Betty Wold Johnson Foundation. Our league will provide teams a chance to showcase their talent and compete fiercely for the New York Jets ECAC Women's Flag Football League. Join us as we celebrate sportsmanship and teamwork, culminating in the awarding of 'The Betty' trophy to the champions at the end of each season.

In February 2026

The Jets ECAC Flag Football League funded by the Betty Wold Johnson Foundation makes its debut on college campuses.

How did the league come about?

The ECAC is forever seeking innovative ways to provide value for athletes and schools within intercollegiate athletics. With the surge in youth participation in women’s flag football nationally, and the decision to include the sport in the Olympics, the ECAC began to consider how it could play a role in providing opportunities and growing this emerging sport. At the same time, The Betty Wold Johnson Foundation and the New York Jets were looking for a way to provide financial support for women’s flag football and contribute to its growth. What resulted was a match made in Heaven.
